On July 27, 2017, the third Networking Forum and Cocktails was held at the WTCMM Lobby dubbed, “Up Close and Personal with DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar”.
Secretary Villar discussed how infrastructure development in the country is of critical importance to sustain high economic growth, improve the social living standards of the people and remove the impediments to international trade and investment.
As head of the Department of Public Works and Highways, Sec. Villar shared his plans and programs outlining the different infrastructure projects under the Build! Build! Build! Program of the current administration.
On October 26, 2017, the fourth Up Close and Personal networking forum was held featuring Bangko Sentral Governor Nestor A. Espenilla, Jr.
Governor Espenilla gave a good overview of BSP’s operations, reforms and challenges through the years. Issuing and implementing policies to promote stability remains the crucial work of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Having been with the BSP for the past 36 years, Gov. Espenilla has witnessed financial gains and crises for decades.
As a conservative central monetary authority, BSP continues its challenging journey towards a stronger banking system while carefully integrating innovative and creative approaches to traditional central banking. “Our banking system has learned to be open-minded to change.” said Espenilla.
