INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

About the World Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM):
WTCMM is the first and the only Union des Foire Internationale (UFI)-recognized exhibition
venue in the Philippines. It is a major player in the MICE industry in the Philippines and is
placed in the international map of exhibition facilities in the region, offering an exhibition hall that
has the amenities and features of a world-class trade hall.

An active member of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) which is headquartered in
New York, USA, WTCMM, a Certified WTC, belongs to a network of more than 300 World Trade
Centers in nearly 100 countries worldwide. Through the WTCA, each WTC becomes a branch
office for all the others, making membership in any center a gateway to the international
business community.

WTCMM, through the Manila WTC Club (MWTCC) is considered a key pass to the global
business community as Club Members get to participate in business-matching opportunities
with trade missions from international markets to generate leads and gain valuable business
contacts.

Scope of Work:

MANILA WORLD TRADE CENTER CLUB:

    1. Member Servicing
      1. Trade Education
        1. Research for seminars, conferences, training programs that would be
          appropriate for the profile of Manila WTC Club members.
        2. Research for organizations/ agencies that the Manila WTC Club could partner
          with to provide appropriate trade education programs to Club members.
        3. Assist in the marketing/ campaign for participants in trade education programs
      2. Trade Missions
        1. Prepare replies to both local & foreign correspondences
        2. Research for outbound missions organized by trade associations, government

agencies and other organizations that could be endorsed and promoted to the
Manila WTC Club members.

 

      1. Trade Information Service and International Trade Library
        1. Sort and categorize Library publications
        2. Update and expand various databases (Member’s Directories, Embassies,
          Chambers, Associations, Exhibitors’ directories, etc.) into key economic
          industries
        3. Assist in coordinating with organizations, trade associations, government
          agencies and other institutions to request for updated materials relevant to
          trade, investment and tourism promotions.
        4. Research on trade information requested by members and WTCs abroad
    1. Membership Retention, Build-up and Marketing
      1. Prepare replies to both local & foreign correspondences
      2. Research for local companies to be invited to join the Manila World Trade Center
        Club
      3. Assist in membership recruitment by sending invitations through e-mail or fax to
        target potential Club members
      4. Assist in trade mission and seminar marketing and promotions to club members and
        to prospective club members
      5. Exposure to sales/client calls and meetings
      6. Assist in liaising with member hotels for rates, bookings, F&B promotions, etc.
      7. Recruit member/s to Manila WTC Club (for additional credits)
    2. Business Center Management
      1. Assist clients in the use of facilities: temporary office space, meeting rooms,

photocopier, printer, facsimile service, use of internet, etc.

 

  1. Clerical and Administrative
    1. Data encoding, filing and documentation
    2. Receive client messages and inquiries
    3. Assist in the preparation of Statements of Account, collection status report, etc.
    4. Assist in filing and documentation of Accounting files

WTC METRO MANILA – EXHIBITION HALLS:

  1. Customer Service/ Clerical and Administrative
    1. Receive clients and visitors
    2. Answer incoming calls and direct calls to department concerned
    3. Data encoding, filing and documentation
    4. Assist in the preparation of Statements of Account, collection status report, etc.
    5. Assist in filing and documentation of Accounting files
  2. Sales & Marketing:
    1. Perform clerical tasks: filing, photocopying, update of ISO forms, etc.
    2. Update marketing database
    3. Research on local and international events in other competing venues and regions
    4. Gather news clippings of various trade shows and events
    5. Maintain updated database: embassies, chambers of commerce, trade associations, business clubs, etc.
    6. Exposure to sales calls
  3. Operations & Events Management
    1. Perform clerical tasks: filing, photocopying, update of ISO forms, etc.
    2. Assist in the preparation of Event Orders
    3. Assist during Coordination Meetings
    4. Assist during Post-Event Debriefing
    5. Conduct inspection of general surroundings, i.e., seminar rooms, loading bay, rest rooms, tent area
    6. Assist in the implementation of events requirements
  4. Facilities Management
    1. Perform clerical tasks: filing, photocopying, update of ISO forms, etc.
    2. Assist in canvassing of suppliers and contractors
    3. Exposure to maintenance schedules
    4. Assist in implementation of events requirements

Requirements:
Applicants must:

  1. Be taking up Marketing, Business Administration, Operations Management, Hotel Restaurant and Institution Management, International Studies, or other related course/field
  2. Have excellent communications skills
  3. Be computer proficient
  4. Have good interpersonal skills
  5. Be presentable and well groomed
  6. Be a Filipino citizen, or, if foreign national, must have appropriate permit to hold training in the Philippines
  7. Be available to start training immediately
  8. Be willing to work in Pasay City
